I forgot but the return pump is probably a mag 5.

Looks good! should be able to handle a mag 5 quite easily. The onlu suggestion I would make is to fasten the inside box to the tank top bracing or to the top of the tank somehow. I've had terrible luck with suction cups inside an aquarium. If the inside box lets go it'll drain your tank. Just a thought.

Nice work, I agree with zdam20. Suction cups may not be the best option, They do seem to loose there suction after time in a SW tank.

I have had problems with the pump pushing way too much water to the tank. Should the tubes be bigger for tansferring water from the tank to the overflow box on the outside?

I can adjust the amount of flow coming into the tank but it doesn't seem like a lot of water is draining. Any suggestions will help. Thanks smile.gif

Looking back at the images I noticed that it doesn't look like there's much space between the 90 and the baffle in the ack side box. Is it possible to remove that 90 inside the box and see what type of flow you'll get? It might be noisy but it might increase your flow noticably. Are you u-tubes 1/2" or 3/4"? Either way they should be able to handle a mag 5. Let us know what you find.

Another option is reducing the flow from the pump with a gate valve. But I would definatly try to get more flow from your overflow first

Flow is still an issue. I even took the elbow off and increased the transfer tube to a 1 inch diameter pvc piping. I think the problem is that the outside box isn't far enough down. Any help will help. LOL smile.gif Oh here is a picture of the updated equipement. I do have a valve to regulate the mag 5 flow but I need more. Unless this overflow looks like it can't handle 375 to 400 gallons per hour.
